"Soon it unfolds who we are in this masquerade of stars."
Lost |

I'm currently inspired by the new MV of Katy Perry called "Wide Awake". I even easily identified three references of her previous MV's, such as the chest fireworks (Firework), the little girl named Katheryn (Last Friday Night) and when she punched the prince (Part of Me). I didn't really like the song when its lyric video was released on YouTube until I saw the official MV with its "Alice in Wonderland-slash-Harry Potter" theme. It really is the best video of Katy Perry so far, and a spellbinding way of ending her Teenage Dream chapter.

And because I was inspired today, I made something new! Leaving the sketchy drawn collage for awhile, I ended up surprisingly with a photo manipulation. Not to brag but I'm not even using Adobe Photoshop to create this because I don't know where to download and I'm very impatient waiting for hours to finish the installation. I must say, this one is my very first successful photomanip, thanks to DA for the images used, and it works out just as well as my previous ones. I love how the glowing effect I added on the wings and how it boosted up the color vibrance. I also added Gaussian blur thingy on the creature and her wings to come up with this oil painting effect or something. The creature looks similar to Katy Perry in her newest video, with the dark violet hair and a black dress. Lastly, the galaxy sky. :)

The story behind the image:
The creature stands in front of a forked road in the middle of a winter desert, both seem leading to nowhere in this distant planet. She's lost and unable to help herself where to go. There's nobody to call for help, except for a unicorn in the first road. She asks herself, "From here, where do I go?"
Two days earlier, I was randomly browsing through my Tumblr and I stumbled across the page of the user I was following. I read her About Me page and learned she's a student from CSB taking up Multimedia Arts.

Multimedia Arts, I recalled something from my memory lane for about four to five years ago. Right.

I was naive and young, and was rather born with this carefree happy-go-lucky attitude which can be both a blessing and a curse. I wasn't taking things seriously about what I really wanted to take in College. I thought and said to myself a few times, "whatever comes in my way". I didn't have a direction because I hoped that one day will come, I will set everything straight in my life along the way. So I heard this course called MMA. It really caught my attention since it makes use of creativity and innovation through computers. Web designing was the keyword. However someone told me some cons regarding the course (I don't know if these are true though). There were limited opportunities for this particular course in the real world not unless I will be successful enough to apply outside the country. Secondly, the materials to be used are exceptionally priceless. Given my parents' income, it's almost impractical for them to earn money that much. I didn't want to burden them in any way either so I ended up with another computer-related course. Little did I know, IS was about codes and syntax, algorithms and such, with a tinge of management. Still highly technical and analytic. I'm just lucky I even graduated on time despite my strong dislike in my course. I pushed through thinking I might actually learn to enjoy the field in the long run.

I looked up for articles and sites discussing about MMA and I realized this was the course I really wanted to pursue. I was already given some situations like the OJT part last year but I failed to notice.. or was too stubborn to care. Four years, I wasted four years of my life in terms of career choice. I should have taken that before. Who knew I might have been a CFAD student if only I took things a lot more serious? I guess it's far too late to even alter these consequences. Things are shaping up to be quite difficult than I imagined. I'm losing faith in everything else and in me.

Almost four months passed since I graduated from this course and I'm still in the current state of unemployment. Instead of enhancing my supposedly creative digital designing, I'm learning the hard way of forcing my mind analyzing and thinking out of the box to provide better solutions for clients in the IT industry. I've been praying to Him and asking for strength and guidance to continue fighting off this sinking feeling of depression. I took sometime to practice speaking for upcoming interviews. I've sent out 30+ applications both in Jobstreet and through my personal mail. Crazy as it seems, I even tried chanting spells I found in the net to attract jobs. I'm trying, sadly, my efforts weren't enough. And then it hit me..

Is it possible that I'm being tested to finally realize what I actually want? I've been letting things go wherever it leads me but I think now is the time to stop and think. There's this saying, "It's never too late to be what you actually might have been." I feel like I'm trapped in this giant labyrinth my mind has created. I'm stuck and the only way to get out is having the guts to choose which way to go. To pursue something I dislike but still considered as one of the most sought out courses today. Or to take the risk of going through unknown detours to find out if I'm really suitable in the course I feel like I was born to do.

Feel Good |
After two hours, I finished another collage. Supposedly it was a doodle sketchy type but I ended up again with something random.. although this time, it has a theme or a story. An original one.

Do Good. Feel Good.

"There's something more than meets the eye.", says the opening line of the Book Emily is reading. Unlike other girls, she likes to spend her time pretty much all by herself. She goes up the hill, with the overlooking view of the little town she lives in. "Hey Ems, Sarah and I will play dolls at my house. Daddy bought me new toys to play with! Why don't you join us?" And for the nth time, Emily declined. "Maybe next time, Amy. I have something important to do." "Yeah we get it. You will probably go nowhere and read your boring books again. My toys are so much better than those. Books are no fun, they only give you headache! Don't say we didn't ask you!" She exclaimed in disgust and they ran off. They never understood her passion for books and libraries. In fact, no one did. Not even her very own mother.

She sat on her favorite spot under the tree deep in the meadow, away from all the noise and distractions. She picked up a daisy beside her and smelled the sweet fragrance of the flower. She closed her eyes in peace and felt her hair brushed against her face as the wind blows. The weather was just right; it was one of those afternoons that easily took her away from the world. Nothing ever would be more calm and serene.

Emily thought about things that do not normally cross young girls' minds. She took notice of the little things around her. Things seem invisible to most of us like trees, birds, the blue sky, the grassy fields and the blooming flowers. She thought why do people choose to ignore the beauty of the world. Instead they dwell their thoughts on temporary things. Meaningless temporary little things. Don't they notice how these things require their attention every time? People then have become hasty and impatient. Their minds contain too much information. "Sometimes, isn't it nice to stop for a moment and clean your head for a while? To let go of the deadweight or the baggages that continue to burden us. We are too busy with our lives that we tend to forget something along the way --- to take a break. To have our alone time in a secret place. To listen to what our heart says. To appreciate the blessings we have and be grateful. To take heed and just breathe. Breathe deeply and live with the moment. To be happy and contented."

Books.. there are books that teach you the key to happiness. The secret to life for you to do good and feel good. Emily could have played with her friends this time. But she flipped through the next page and allowed herself to embrace the colorful contents of the Book. And just like that, her mind magically wandered to a different realm.

Je T'aime |
Umm so.. I was bored. That means it's collage time!

The background is a combination of 2 elements: a fairy mesh and a galaxy texture. The rest is over 15 layers, including a picture of yours truly. Still gotta work on those lasso tool thingy hahaha! Made this for more or less 4 hours. I think I went a little too much on this one and it's kinda overcrowded already, don't you think?

Again, all stock images are from Deviantart except me lol.

Thinking of another design/style. Nothing too vintage, more like a doodle one.

Poetic Disasterpiece II |
..or so how I named this entry in my Multiply account around 3-4 years ago. And of course, I'd like to share it here in my new blog because as soon as I finished reading it, I was like.. what the hell? =))
"I was cleaning my room when I saw my portfolio in 3rd year HS for our Filipino subject. It was where we should put our assignments and other schoolworks. While flipping the pages of the notebook, I was surprised to see the composition I made for the IW in that subject... Knowing ME and how my FOUL LITTLE MIND works, I obviously end up with a very bizarre poem. And so, to cut off your waiting time before you start to get pissed and leave this page, I would like to present you the work of trash. XD" - Excerpt of my Multiply entry
Ano ba 'tong nararamdaman ko ngayon?
Wala namang malinaw na eksplenasyon.
Nakakahilo, napakakumplikado
Ano ba 'tong pinagsasabi ko?

Ako ay mukha na namang may hang-over
Hindi naman ako uminom kagabi
Mukha na akong kalansay dito ngayon
Sabi ng kaibigan ko, ako ay adik.

Walang gana at inaantok sa klase

Magwala man ang lola o pakantahin.

Ipipikit ko ang aking mga mata
Dahil giliw, ikaw ay nakatawag na
Pero kung hindi mo ito magagawa
Aba'y diretsong gising hanggang umaga.

Kilig, tuwa, nerbyos ang nadarama ko
O ano nga bang klaseng emosyon ito?
Sari-saring kulay parang bahag-hari

Managinip habang tayo'y magkapiling.

The poem is composed of 10 stanzas with 12 syllables per verse. Seemingly its theme was about a person coping with the death of the other half; as he continues to recall past memories of his young love, from the first time he was confused with his infatuation to his longing of the abridged love. I was also trying to be humorous; hence, the usage of words was similar to a Fliptop sequence.

Well, this just proves how I tried poetry before and sadly became another lifetime frustration.

Decoupage |
After watching the latest episode of Revenge, I tried creating a photo collage using Photoshop to kill some time. I've always wanted to do this but then either I was busy with other things or simply not in the mood. Plus, I really had no idea how people produce these works. It was a dream come true for me to create this particular kind of collage and I don't know exactly why. Seeing collages like this always made me puke rainbows. :>

So here is my very first collage work! :D

Simple as it is and images are randomly pasted together but I really love how it turned out! Nothing so special about the result but since it's a first, hell yeah like a boss! =)) Looking forward to create more designs that can be used as backgrounds or headers or banners too! :D

She guided me in achieving this collage. I owe her one!
Thank you Ms. Cerisse! :)

Images used are all from Deviantart. :)
